Crest Homes Poster on A4 Bath Road

Bus Shelter Side of Road Advert

This bus shelter campaign has been running for a number of months and the client has changed the advert on a number of occasions. This is a bus shelter on the A4 Bath Road heading towards Maidenhead and is right outside a Sainsburys Superstore. The message will reach large volumes of traffic on a regular basis as well as passing foot traffic and people waiting for the bus outside the supermarket.

Bus shelters in prominent locations on busy A roads are a great cost effective way to get your message across to the local community and make them aware of your product or service.

Don’t Take Your Business into a Parallel Universe

Don’t take your business into a parallel universe – no one will see you…

You have decided you want to promote your business on local bus shelters as it might be good for directional signage to lead prospective clients to your business and you can cherry pick a site that you think would be good for you.

How much do you know about the poster site you have selected?

Please do not buy any poster site from a list. If you don’t know the specific site, then you should see this as a picture to make sure you book the site you want and not one facing in the opposite direction or maybe even parallel to the road when you don’t see it till you are right on top of it.

bus shelter stop advertising poster marketing targeted business

If you have never used outdoor advertising for your business, a list that is sent to you of bus shelters in your area would mean nothing to you. You might see a bus shelter site on the list that is on the road you want and it looks to be in the right location for you but please don’t be tempted without actually seeing it. You will get bus shelter poster that will be nearside to the road and head on. You will get posters on the opposite side to these posters so effectively they will be offside head on but facing the opposite direction and then you will get some parallel to the road. If the bus shelter only has parallel posters on it, then it may not be the best for you unless of course it is in an exceptionally busy area and visible to large numbers of people. With a nearside head on poster, you know it is going to be visible to all drivers and possibly pedestrians heading down the same road. With an offside head on poster in most cases it will work fine, but be careful to make sure it faces the right direction for you. If the bus shelter is the opposite side of a dual carriageway, then the offside head on poster may not work at all as its not clearly visible.

Bus Shelter Advertising Targeted Local or NationalTo make sure you get the right bus shelter for your business, you need to speak to a specialist in the industry who understands how it works and to help you maximise the potential from the advertising. You need a company who cares, a company who understands the industry and how it works and how you can ensure your budget is not wasted.

Bus Stop Advertising – Who, What, Why and When!

bus stop shelter cover terminal advert advertising busstopBus Stop Advertising is one of the more popular outdoor advertising opportunities. Take into consideration the footfall around bus shelters, the frequency they are seen and the fact that they are working for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week 365 days a year, and they can add massive impact to your advertising campaign.

Geographics and cost: Precise geographic targeting is so important for bus shelter adverts. If you carry out business locally and are looking to target local consumers whatever your industry, then bus shelter advertising is the perfect advertising vehicle. Obviously prices to advertise using this method will vary and are usually based on the location of your poster site. But the value to a local business promoting the right product to the right audience – all local consumers – is marketing gold and highly achievable using bus shelter advertising.

Who notices them? Not only are bus shelter (or bus stop) adverts seen by commuters waiting for that ever elusive bus with nothing to do but sit and stare at a grey street, they are also seen just as much by the passengers already on the bus and also passing vehicles and pedestrians. Bus shelter adverts are generally at eye level directly in view for a bored and already seated audience – the bus passengers, or the commuters waiting in traffic. We can also take into consideration that most bus rides are a tedious stop and start journey, especially in town centres with passengers always waiting for other commuters to alight and depart. Finally remember that commuters would rather avert their gaze and look out of a window rather than have to share their personal space with others sharing the journey.

So do we have an audience limited to the passengers on a bus? The answer to this one is absolutely not. Pedestrians, vehicle drivers and their passengers including business commuters, shoppers, taxi drivers, delivery drivers (all frequently stuck in traffic jams) all see your bus stop advert. It is much more preferable to look for pleasing things that catch the eye in contrast to watching a never ending line of brake lights, or a slow changing traffic light sequence that is always seemingly beyond reach.

Frequency of exposure: It is common knowledge that people usually pass the same location everyday while driving to work, or doing school runs, so the topic advertised in the bus shelters that they pass every day is repeatedly imprinted in their memory. Subliminal advertising is undisputedly one of the most effective methods, mix this with fresh innovative ideas, a show stopping design and you are on to a winner.

Impact: Creativity is of utmost importance in this type of advertising media. Bus Shelter advertising campaigns should be informative, eye catching, memorable or a mixture of all three. We can provide you with some of our favourite all time bus shelter advertising campaigns just to show how creative and effective this advertising media can be if you need some inspiration.

Bus Shelter Advertising Posters

Bus Shelters or bus shelter sized posters can be on roadside sites, shopping centre locations or outside Supermarkets.

Surrey CC used 6 sheet posters to get their messages into the local community and will target locations that will capture a large number of people.

This is particularly good when the message is a local message and will capture the attention of the local community on a regular basis.

It is possible to cover a wide area by moving the poster after a two week period and this will enable the opportunity to cover a number of poster sites over a prolonged period of time.

Surrey CC Bus Shelter Advertising Message

Surrey County Council regularly use bus shelters to promote various advertising campaigns to residents in the Surrey area.

Bus shelters when carefully selected help get the messages across not only to bus users but also to car drivers.

Focal Point will pick head on panels for that extra impact and visibility rather than parallel panels as these tend not to be seen as much, especially from drivers.

Bus shelter sized posters would also be available at supermarkets and with the right campaign, supermarkets are a great way to get certain messages across.

If you have a message you would like to get across, then please contact us today for a free no obligation quotation.

The Deanery School Bus Shelter Campaign

Our client The Deanery School ran a Bus Shelter and billboard campaign in Wigan to promote their Open Evening.

By using Bus Shelters for this form of advertising, The Deanery School used this to form part of a campaign which ran in June and September.

The campaign was to promote the High School open Evening and with the use of Bus Stops our client felt they would be able to target the right audience. Focal point assisted them in the choice of locations to make sure The Deanery School got the most impact out of the campaign.

Experience Guildford Bus Station Advertising Campaign

Experience Guildford wanted to book a last minute campaign to promote “The Urban Beach” during the school holidays.

Due to late notice, there were not a lot of poster spaces available in the Guildford area but we did manage to find space and this picture is from a site taken at Guildford Bus Station for a two week campaign leading up to the weekend of the event.

These is a 4 sheet sized poster (60 inch x 40 inch). There are not a lot this size available nationally but they do offer great value for money.
